Kinesis Pilates has outgrown its space and come Summer of 2017, is moving to the Stanley Marketplace. The main driver for the move is so that Kinesis can offer more--more equipment, more classes, and more chances for you and the community to do Pilates.
More space, more stuff
The studio will be located on the second floor of the Stanley Marketplace at 2501 Dallas Street in Aurora. If you take the stairs near the Logan Coffee House to the second floor, the studio is in the second space at the top of the stairs, between the art gallery Zeel and Belly Bliss.
The new space is 850 square feet, with a small bathroom in the back corner. The studio will have one cadillac, five reformers that can convert into towers, five chairs, a high barrel, a ped-o-pul, and various other smaller equipment. There will be a small seating area at the front of the room as well.
Over the summer, Kinesis will be open from 8am-1pm and 4:30-6:30pm on weekdays, as well as from 10am-12pm on Saturdays. Classes will be offered at 9am, 12pm, and 5:30pm, with private sessions available in between. For more information about the schedule and pricing, see Rates.
Host Advisor Studio
The program where I trained, The Pilates Center in Boulder, allows its students to complete internship hours with their graduates at Host Advisor Studios. In March, I underwent a training so that Kinesis could become such a studio. So when Kinesis opens at Stanley, students training to become Pilates teachers will be able to complete some of their hours there.
Many of these students are required to observe over 200 hours of lessons. What this means for clients is that students may be observing classes and taking notes. Some students may ask to observe private lessons as well, but this only happens with client approval.
One perk to having student teachers is that they will need to practice their teaching skills. If you are interested in taking a lesson with a student teacher, they are $20 for 55-minutes.
